Required Skills & Experience
- 4-year degree in IT, Engineering, or other technical area; or comparable work experience. High school diploma is minimally required.
- 4+ years of work experience with badging and video surveillance systems; Verkada, ProWatch and Avigilon experience is a plus
- 4+ years of work experience with vendors to ensure project fulfillment
- 2+ years of building and growing a physical security program
- 4 or more years of Physical Security Administration experience in a corporate environment with a focus on installation and support of physical access control and video surveillance systems
- Knowledge of security alarm systems, alarm automation software administration, analog and digital video systems, video systems administration, access control systems administration, security systems integration and system redundancy design
- Knowledge of networked physical security systems and protocols (e.g., IP cameras, digital recorders, access control controllers, alarm devices, alarm panels, etc.)
- General knowledge of TCPIP networking concepts and troubleshooting; ability to perform communications testing & troubleshooting
- The ability to produce documentation on the systems is important therefore excellent written English skills are essential
- Attention to detail with effective written communication skills
- Ability to show ownership for follow through in system/application resolutions
- Knowledge of project management best practices, standards, and guidelines
- Strong teamwork abilities able to communicate and work effectively in a large team environment
- Ability to identify critical issues and triage troubleshooting & support resources
- Ability to adjust to changing priorities and participation on multiple projects simultaneously
Desired Skills & Experience
- Experience with cybersecurity methodologies, tools, and techniques is a plus
- Experience in law enforcement is a plus
- Certification in a physical security system or systems is a plus
What You Will Be Doing
Looking for a Physical Security Administrator to deploy, manage, and support physical security functions at energy plants, offices, & data centers. This individual will also work in helping to design and coordinate new site builds with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) companies and Security Integrators. This role reports to the Director, Cybersecurity.
Daily Responsibilities
- Responsible for the implementation and support of physical security systems at energy plants, offices, & data centers
- Monitor physical security systems, analyze problems or malfunctions, perform software programming and development, take corrective action to maintain optimal system performance and security
- Ensure all physical security systems are fully functional, including but not limited to access control system, video management system, radio dispatching system, cameras, card readers, etc.
- Responsible for the coordination and programming of new site builds, moves, adds & changes, audits and continuous updates to the Access Control and Video Surveillance systems
- Responsible for day-to-day activities in support of badging for energy plants, offices, and data centers. Includes creating, updating, and deleting badges from the system(s)
- Contribute to the development of roadmaps that define the future state security architecture and recommend the selection of hardware and software products and when work will be done to evolve to this future state
- Responsible for identifying, analyzing, and driving complex problems to resolution as they pertain to physical security infrastructure
- Update technical security standards and strategies to include network security related technology and controls
- Development and support of technical security architecture focusing on network security design and advanced system administration
- Analyzes existing systems processes and develops and implements recommended improvement
- Support the IT functionality through close coordination with both internal and external IT/Network providers
- Participation in audits involving physical security program
- Develop and deliver training site personnel
- Manage projects involving security system configuration, implementation, and commissioning
- Assist with service call tracking and billing
- Other tasks as required
- Possible travel to sites based on project needs
