Major Duties
Assists with installation, maintenance, and repair; installs, monitors, and administers computer software; provides user device and application support; serves as a backup to other IT employees.
Administers and provides non-critical and critical support for the following systems and applications:

- Access control (Brivo\Exaqvision)
- Storage and file shares (ISCSI, SMB)
- Certificate Management
- User access (Active Directory, Azure/Entra)
- Web\cloud and on-premises applications (Office 365, Adobe, ArcGIS, Tyler ERP Suite)
- Unified communications (Fortivoice\Microsoft Teams)
- Security cameras (Milestone)
- Audio visual (Crestron, Air media)
- DNS (Azure/DNSFilter)
- Inventory (Lansweeper)
- Virtual infrastructure (Nutanix, VMware)
- Service desk. (Lansweeper)
Monitors And Assists With Administering
- Backup jobs (Barracuda, Rubrik, FTP)

Provides backup up assistance for the initial point of contact for service desk tickets and handles ticket escalation based on severity.
Knowledge And Qualifications
- Mid-level knowledge of server and workstation hardware and troubleshooting abilities.
- Mid-level knowledge of switch, router, and cabling design, configuration, and maintenance.
- Mid-level knowledge of system and network design.
- Mid-level knowledge of TCP/IP protocol and wireless communication protocols.
- Knowledge of basic programming and scripting languages (i.e., Windows scripting host, Unix shell programming, and VB).
- Proven skill in installing, repairing, and maintaining complex computer hardware and software.
- Proven skill in time prioritization and management.
- Proven skill in troubleshooting and problem solving.
- Experienced skill in the operation of computer equipment.
- Experienced in oral and written communication.
Minimum Qualifications
- Any combination of education and/or experience equivalent to an associate degree with an emphasis in computer technology or related field and 2 years of qualified experience. Experience with computer networking, telecommunications, hardware, and software support at a Mid-level is required. Associate Level Microsoft/Cisco//Fortinet/PMP/ITIL certifications have preference.

SUPERVISORY CONTROLS: The Information Technology Director assigns work in terms of general instruction and guidelines. Completed work is reviewed for compliance with procedures, accuracy, and the nature and propriety of the final results.
GUIDELINES: Guidelines include technical manuals, user specifications, supervisory instructions, federal, state, and city laws, and department policies and procedures. These guidelines require judgment, selection and interpretation in application.
COMPLEXITY: The work consists of varied technical duties. Frequently-changing computer technologies and the need to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel contribute to the complexity of the work.
SCOPE AND EFFECT: The purpose of this position is to assist with the performance of help desk, systems analysis, and maintenance duties. Successful performance helps ensure the efficient and effective provision of computer information services to all City departments.
PERSONAL CONTACTS: Contacts are typically with co-workers, other city employees, vendors, and consultants.
PURPOSE OF CONTACTS: Contacts are typically to give or exchange information, resolve problems, and provide services.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or computer table.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work is typically performed in an office or a computer room, outdoors, and occasionally in automobiles.
